The Saugeen Shores Skating Club (SSSC) is sanctioned by Skate Canada and a member club of the Skate Canada-Central Ontario Section. We offer a full range of programs throughout the Spring and Fall as well as our regular season. Programs include Canskate (learn to skate), Star Skate (test program) and competitive programs.

Children as young as three years old can join our programs and learn to skate in a fun recreational environment. Parents are not required to be on the ice while their child is skating but we do encourage parents to be at the rink while their child is on the ice.

Regardless of which ice sport children choose, that is hockey, ringette, figure skating, or speed skating, they must all learn the same basic skills. If the child learns the basic skills with the Skating Club first, it will be easier for them to concentrate on the specific skills associated with a particular ice sport. A young person entering hockey, for example, will be able to learn hockey skills and the rules of the game far more effectively if they have already learned the basics of skating.

SSSC is a not-for-profit organization served by dedicated volunteer board members and a highly skilled group of Professional Coaches. Our values fall in line with that of Skate Canada, which is an Association dedicated to the principles of enabling every Canadian to participate in skating throughout their lifetime for fun/fitness and or achievement.
